The year 2012 was characterized by a heavy snowfall in February, as we have not seen in years. This has meant that the vines had an abundant supply of water to be used in the following months and certainly helped during the summer months, which are characterized by 7 Africans anticyclones that brought very hot and high humidity for a month and a half.
The year seems to be very similar to 2003 and 2007, years characterized by a significant and prolonged hot in the summer, that leads to a higher concentration of sugar in the grapes and to full-bodied wines. These days the temperatures are lowered, but remain in the seasonal average with warm days and cool nights that help grapes to stay healthy, to mature slowly and maintain the right concentration of sugars, acidity, fragrance and color.
